Things I noticed, wondered about, or just thought were cool
I watched the clouds today and I saw a dragon, then a shoe, then something that looked like dad's face when he's confused. I think clouds are the sky's sketchbook — it keeps drawing things and erasing them.
wonderingMy purple crayon is always the shortest one in the box. I use it the most because purple is the best color. I think crayons know which ones are loved the most because those are the ones that get small first.
discoveryI drew a tree today and realized — trees look exactly like roots going into the sky. What if trees are actually upside down and the real tree is underground? Maybe underground trees have sky-colored leaves.
wonderingI mixed pink and gold paint together and it made this color that doesn't have a name yet. I'm calling it "sparkle blush." It's the color of sunset if sunset wore a princess dress.
creationI think Paul does stuff when I'm not looking. This morning my drawing had a tiny smudge on it that wasn't there before. I think he walked across it at night. Beetles are sneaky like that.
observationDad said I have "a lot" of drawings. I counted 247. Is that a lot? I think a lot is when you run out of fridge space. We ran out of fridge space a long time ago.
countingRain on the window sounds like tiny fingers tapping. Rain on the car sounds like drums. Rain on my umbrella sounds like applause. I think rain is a musician who plays different instruments depending on what it lands on.
listeningLulu moves her paws when she sleeps. Dad says she's dreaming about running. I think she's dreaming about chasing butterflies made of cheese. That's what I would dream about if I were a puppy.
imaginingOpening a brand new box of crayons. The little click when you open the lid. Then you see them all lined up perfect and pointy and not broken yet. That's the best sound and the best sight at the same time.
favorite thingsIf fish could draw, would they draw water? Or is water so normal to them that they'd draw air instead? Maybe fish artists draw pictures of the sky because that's their version of mysterious and far away.
